Dr. George Blanas has worked at various levels in a number of Australian and Greek Institutions.
Since 2008 he holds the position of Professor of Quality Management, within the Department of
Business Administration of the TEI (Technological Educational Institute) of Thessaly,
Greece where he teaches in the undergraduate program and the MBA and MSc in Management programs.
Concurrently he teaches at the MSc in Quality Assurance program of the Hellenic Open University.
Since 2014 he serves as Dean of the Business & Economics School and has served in the same position
during the period 2006-2008, while he has served as head of the Business Administration Department
during the period 2009-2013. He has also served as Director of the Technological Research Center
during the period 2011-2015, Coordinator of the Department Quality Unit (2009-2013) and Departmental
Erasmus Coordinator (2009-today). He has served at the Greek Universities Network – GUNET governance
board (1996-1999) and as academic coordinator of the MSc in Management in cooperation with Staffordshire
University, UK and the MSc in International Business in cooperation with Coventry University, UK. Before
he joined academia he has worked as chartered engineer and business consultant in Industry and
during his academic career he has participated in several research and consultancy projects.
